Supporting Your Child’s Speech Development Through Connection and Play

Empowering your child to connect with friends, family and themselves

Welcome!

What we can do for you

At Authentic Speech, we empower children to communicate authentically, while providing their families with the information they need to support their child.

We provide neuro-diversity affirming services in Sydney’s inner west, supporting children and their families in their most natural environments: at home, at school, and within the community. By integrating play-based therapy and adhering to each child’s preferences, we make every session engaging and effective

What we do

We believe in celebrating neurodiversity and understand that behaviour is a form of communication. We know that every child is unique, and we tailor our sessions to ensure they are individualised and client-led. Our approach doesn’t push for masking; we embrace stimming, recognise the strengths in every child, and validate their emotions. We are committed to making sure each child feels seen, heard, and understood.

We deeply respect children’s right to choose their participation level in any activity and to communicate their preferences. Your child’s comfort and authenticity are our top priorities.

We work within your child’s most familiar settings – their home, school, and community – to create a comfortable and effective learning environment.

Our approach is playful and child-centred. We use play-based therapy, which is not only engaging but also an evidence-based practice that will resonate with your child’s interests and preferences. Play is children’s form of work, as it allows them to develop necessary skills needed for their growth.
